2006
Datamed is founded
Datamed is established in Latvia, laying the foundation for a company focused on medical diagnostics technology and telemedicine services.
2006
First hospital partners join
Datamed begins building a unified diagnostics archive, starting with early institutional partners including Riga East Clinical University Hospital stationary “Gaiļezers”, the former Austrumu medicīnas centrs, and Latvijas jūras medicīnas centrs, operating on early AGFA IMPAX infrastructure.
2010
Emergency connectivity & Medap-LIS partnership
Latvian hospitals begin sending imaging studies to the Emergency Medical Center to support rapid emergency diagnostics. In parallel, Datamed becomes the long-term technology partner for Medap-LIS.
2011
National acute care availability
The Emergency Medical Center expands Datamed’s availability across Latvia for acute and emergency scenarios, giving clinicians in all specialties rapid access to diagnostic images and data. This significantly reduces repeat examinations and accelerates decision-making across hospitals. At the same time, the first laboratories and early cardiology systems begin sending results into Datamed.
2012
Launch of the new cloud-based viewer
A modern cloud-enabled DICOM viewer is introduced, providing clinicians with fast and secure access to imaging studies.
2013
Expansion in the capital’s hospitals
The hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics and Riga 1st hospital adopt Datamed, expanding diagnostic connectivity across Riga’s major clinical institutions.
2014
Cooperation with Riga East Clinical University Hospital
Riga East Clinical University Hospital signs a cooperation agreement with Datamed, becoming one of the platform’s most significant clinical partners
2016
Improved patient portal launch and laboratory data integration
Datamed introduces an improved Patient Portal, giving patients secure and user-friendly remote access to their diagnostic results. In the same year, E. Gulbja Laboratorija begins supplying its laboratory data to the platform, expanding the range of results available to both patients and clinicians.
2017
Radiology in e-Health & expanded modalities
Radiology data becomes available within the national e-Health system. Datamed expands support for ECGs, endoscopy, ultrasound and additional laboratory results, strengthening clinical workflows across Latvia.
2019
Central Laboratory and primary care adoption
Centrālā laboratorija connects its results to Datamed, and family doctors across Latvia begin accessing diagnostic results directly through the platform, improving continuity of care.
2020
Reliable service throughout COVID-19
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Datamed ensures uninterrupted access to diagnostics and supports remote consultations and digital workflows across Latvian healthcare institutions.
2021
Full radiology integration with Riga East Clinical University Hospital
Riga East Clinical University Hospital begins delivering complete radiology imaging and reports through Datamed, further strengthening Latvia’s nationwide diagnostic archive.
2022
Official radiology AI partnerships
Datamed becomes the Baltic distributor for leading radiology AI applications, including Gleamer, enabling Latvian clinicians to access advanced imaging-analysis technology.
2025
