Hospital Information Systems
Complete hospital management built for modern healthcare
Hospital Information System (HIS) is a comprehensive platform that connects every department in your facility. From patient admission to discharge, clinical documentation to billing, the system handles the full spectrum of hospital operations in a single integrated environment.
HIS centralizes patient data and streamlines workflows
HIS ensures that clinicians, administrators, and support staff all work from the same information.
Whether you’re running a specialized rehabilitation center, a general hospital, or a multi-site healthcare network, HIS adapts to your workflows rather than forcing you to adapt to the software
Admissions management
Care plan tracking
Procedure scheduling
Clinical decision documentation
Billing management
Connection to external platforms
Built for scalability and interoperability
HIS integrates with Laboratory Information Systems, radiology platforms, and national e-health infrastructure without requiring custom development. Add new departments, connect additional facilities, or integrate specialized systems as your institution grows.
The platform supports both on-premise and cloud deployment, giving you control over where your data lives while maintaining the flexibility to scale as needed.
Key capabilities
Patient registration and management
Handle patient intake with automated insurance verification and immediate care plan initiation. The system maintains complete patient records, tracks insurance coverage, and ensures all necessary administrative details are captured at admission.
Clinical
documentation
Document patient care using template-based charting that speeds up routine entries while maintaining clinical accuracy. Built-in clinical decision support helps staff follow protocols and identify potential issues before they become problems.
Rehabilitation therapy scheduling
Coordinate therapy sessions across multiple disciplines with intelligent scheduling that optimizes resource utilization. The system accounts for therapist availability, patient needs, equipment requirements, and facility capacity to maximize efficiency.
Progress tracking and outcomes measurement
Monitor patient progress in real time with structured outcome measurement tools. Clinical staff document improvements, track recovery milestones, and generate reports that demonstrate treatment effectiveness.
Sustainable
partnership
Visida Solutions is ready to commit to long-term partnerships that foster workforce capabilities and healthcare system resilience.
Who is it for?
HIS works for hospitals of any size and specialty. It’s particularly effective for rehabilitation hospitals, specialty treatment centers, and institutions that need tight coordination between clinical care, diagnostic services, and administrative functions. If your facility handles complex care pathways, manages multiple therapy disciplines, or needs to demonstrate measurable patient outcomes, HIS provides the structure and tools to do it efficiently.

Implementation approach
Needs
mapping
We start by mapping your current workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and understanding how different departments interact. The system is configured to match your processes, with customization focused on specialty-specific needs like rehabilitation protocols or complex scheduling requirements.
Modular
implementation
Implementation follows a modular approach. Core patient management goes live first, followed by clinical documentation, then diagnostic integration and billing. This staged deployment keeps your operations running while the new system comes online.
Training and
on-boarding
Training is role-specific. Clinicians learn documentation and care coordination features. Administrative staff focus on registration and billing. IT teams get the technical knowledge to manage and maintain the system.
Support and maintenance
You get ongoing support from both local teams who understand your operational context and European specialists who handle complex technical issues. System updates, security patches, and feature enhancements are managed as part of the service.
You get
Increased workflow efficiency
Reduced administrative workload
Increased data accuracy
Improved patient care journey
Possibility for future scaling and integration
Current development focus
We’re currently developing an enhanced HIS solution specifically for rehabilitation hospitals, with Jaunkemeri Hospital as our development partner. The focus is on measurable improvements in patient outcomes and operational efficiency. The features are designed around the real-world needs of rehabilitation medicine.
Military University Hospital Prague
Challenge
The Military University Hospital in Prague needed a secure and lightweight RIS-type workflow for sending diagnostic studies to PACS and reviewing them in a secure web viewer. They also required a way to compare radiologist findings with AI-generated results to evaluate whether AI could support clinical decision-making.
Approach
A compact “Mini-RIS” workflow was implemented to allow military medical staff to upload imaging studies directly into PACS and view them through a web-based viewer. All submitted studies were automatically forwarded to an external AI solution, enabling radiologists to review both human-observed findings and AI-generated insights side by side for verification and assessment.
Impact
The setup provided a fast, secure and self-contained diagnostic workflow suitable for a military environment. Radiologists were able to evaluate AI performance in real cases, compare interpretations and assess the potential value of AI assistance in future diagnostic processes.
RAKUS
The Biggest Hospital and Clinics in Latvia
Challenge
As one of Latvia’s largest healthcare institutions, RAKUS faced increasing complexity in managing diagnostic data across radiology, laboratories, and multiple hospital units, while ensuring secure data exchange and national accessibility.
Approach
Through a long-term strategic partnership with Visida Solutions (previously Datamed), RAKUS progressively integrated radiology systems, laboratory information systems, and national e-Health solutions into a unified diagnostic environment. The collaboration focused on scalable integrations, secure data exchange, and continuous digital development.
Impact
Created a centralised national diagnostic archive, improved access to radiological and laboratory data across healthcare institutions, and strengthened clinical decision-making – positioning RAKUS as a key contributor to Latvia’s digital healthcare ecosystem.
DRS
Radiology Data Exchange and Remote Diagnostics, Daugavpils Regional Hospital, Latvia
Challenge
Regional hospitals in Latvia face delayed access to radiological diagnostics, limited specialist availability, and fragmented data exchange – challenges amplified in emergency and disaster medicine settings. At Daugavpils Regional Hospital (DRS), manual workflows and weak integration with national e-health systems slowed both routine and urgent care.
Approach
Starting in 2012–2013, Datamed partnered with DRS to implement a secure radiology data exchange and archiving solution, initially focused on emergency use. The platform enabled centralized storage, secure image transmission, and remote viewing and reporting – allowing radiologists to consult off-site.
Over time, the solution expanded to include patient digital access, integration with national e-health systems, automated discharge summaries, support for additional diagnostics, and early adoption of AI-assisted radiology workflows.
Impact
Improved diagnostic accessibility and turnaround times, increased workforce flexibility, and reduced reliance on on-site specialists. Patients gained secure access to results, while DRS reduced manual workload and strengthened interoperability – creating a scalable model for digital transformation in regional hospitals.
